Mobile Phone Camcorder

Samsung A990There's two things I want from a new cell phone: better pictures and better video. Those are two improvements that is. I'd still like USB connectivity and could care less about other kinds of ports for TV/printer/Bluetooth, SMS/MMS but that is pretty much standard, and the ability to muck with my mobile phone's content through BitPim or something similar/free. I'm having a remarkably hard time discovering decent coverage of camera capabilities, and even more so with the video capture / camcorders.

For some reason many sites (even the manufacturer's) will simply expose the megapixel "score". If you're lucky you get the resolution of still photos, but I've yet to see the dimensions of captured video. Is that too much to ask? I would assume this Samsung A990 with a 3.2 megapixel camera could do better than the 190x160 camcorder resolution of my RAZR V9m, but how can I tell for sure? The video captured by my RAZR is so bad as to be considered useless or even criminal. You get 15 seconds of the crummiest footage you'll ever see, anything you shoot will end up looking like a hunt for Bigfoot.
