Includes Digital Copy

Missy bought me The Dark Knight on Blu-Ray today and its cover gleefully advertised "Bonus Digital Copy" which intrigued me until I saw the associated instruction card within ...

How to get your Digital Copy

Are you kidding me? Only a pack of ancient, greedy lawyers could behind this particular insanity, because they don't get it. Movies have not yet reached music whereby a convenient (or at least non-inconvenient) legal method exists to obtain them. Until then, self-ripped copies floating around the bay are the easiest way. It's shameful how paying customers are treated.

The fact that it's less of a hassle to pirate a video than to try and make a personal digital copy myself for the PS3 - which is a premier Blu-Ray player - is also insane. Why can't XMB provide an option to make a local backup, even encrypted to work only on the system it's performed on? Blast it, technology is always a game of musical chairs whereby we keep switching which features are available.

P.S. - FireFox seems to think that "movies" is not the correct spelling ... wow.
