Kindle 2.0 Leak

I nearly bought the first generation Kindle, but the large cost could not be justified in accordance with a trickling income. Recently I bought a Safari Books Online subscription for technical documentation at the behest of a contracting co-worker and it allows you to download PDF chapters. Reading on an LCD/CRT is distracting at best and permanently damaging at worst, so the rumblings of a new Amazon eBook Reader rekindled my interest. See what I did there?

Enter a post on Digg to a blog entry about a forum thread on the following leaked pictures:

Kindle 2.0 is Pencil Thin

One of the Digg denizens noted it looks like a big iPod touch and I have to agree. I wonder why they chose to make the back of it metal when it's supposed to be (I'd like it to be) a more rugged device. Everything with a shiny metal side ends up scraped, smudged, etc.

At nearly four big bones, price is still a serious issue but the hope is a worthwhile level of comfort and convenience not offered by a bulging bag of bulky books or looking at a laptop in bright light.
