My Wanderlust Part I: Sunny But Cold
Monday, January 11, 2010... the air picks up swift
sniff just a whiff
the cold takes a bite
nibble just a little ...
... the sun shines of fire
to walk for a while
the light brings me peace
for a while at least ...
... the ground puts up guard
jar legs so hard
the breeze pulls my arms
cool makes them blue ...
... too much to waste
much less to taste
too far to walk
far more to talk
much more to say
for much later days ...
filling empty I wonder too
what strife can be gone
what miss can be kept ...
... eaten insides I ponder on
what life can go on
what wish can be left
... the end is my friend
but no closer still
the plight painful slow
and this day grows old ...

What sad poetry. What was going on for you when you were writing this? What prompted you to post it now?

My separation was going on and I would go on long contemplative walks through Lakewood / Tacoma. I briefly started going through a copy of my old website and these two poems were at the top of the list on it way back then. I'll put up more as time goes on, but there's a lot (and I got lazy right after these!)
